Caught on camera: Thieves steals cash from showroom in Jammu
Jammu: In a shocking incident, two thieves broke into a showroom near National highway in Bari Brahmana late night yesterday and were caught on the CCTV camera installed there, while stealing ₹ 59,000 in cash.
The report said that the theft took place when two burglars broke into a Van Heusen showroom situated near National highway in Bari Brahmana after midnight and then stole the cash by breaking the store’s locks with a rod and ran away with 59K.

“We closed the showroom at 9:30pm last night then in the morning I got a call from my housekeeping and she asked me have I opened the showroom that much early as the locks are broken”, said Mr Vijay Kumar, manager of the showroom.

“In a haste I called my showroom staff and told him to check the showroom as what had happened there, he lives nearby it and went there and sent me the pics of broken locks of our store”, said.
He added: “I then called our showroom’s owner and sent him the pics, he told me to check the cash drawer and when I opened it there was nothing in it”.
“The robbers fled away with our two days of cash collection which was Rupees 59,000”, he alleged.
“My owner told me to visit Bari Brahmana police station to register a complaint, the police cooperated and came with me”, he said.
“A forensic team also came with them they have collected the finger prints from our store and told me to not touch anything till they don’t prepare a report”, he further said.
“I don’t know what to touch or not in my store. I have restricted the entry of my store staff and customers here”, he added.
The police is still looking into the matter.
