School buses going through wrong side, posing threat to lives of students in Jammu

 

Jammu: The recent accident involving a school bus in Kathua  have raised an obvious question on children’s safety because even after the tragedy some school buses were found taking unauthorised short cuts putting the lives of students at stake on the same route.

“We informed the school administrations that school buses should not ply on wrong lanes risking the life of students”, a local allegedly told media.

“One can see in the video that how the school bus is crossing the median carelessly, why the school management is so negligent and the regime should take strict action against them”, he said.

“Soon after the Kathua’s school bus accident, the Highway authority came and cemented the unauthorised  short cuts, which the locals driver seek to save driving a few meters, but they are still taking these short cuts jeopardizing lives of students”, he asserted.

“After the accident the local regime called a meeting in which they directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to close these shorts cuts here and also advised the schools to take care of their transportation”, the report said.

“Soon after the Kathua school accident the ‘Mir Chand Social workers’ helped the injured students, even at that time they intimated about these illegal short cuts”, the report added.

“On Saturday, I sent pics and videos of school buses taking illegal short cuts to their respective schools and even after that nothing much has changed”, he asserted.

“One of victims of recent road accident ‘Nitish’ died in my arms, whose mother was badly weeping”, he said.

“I noticed three school buses taking the same short-cut again, risking lives of students”, he told media.

“I’m of the opinion that the school principal should be highly ashamed and the administration should take tough action against them”, he further said.
