Jammu and Kashmir’s National Conference party Chief, Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday (April 23) in Kashmir region’s Central district Srinagar addressing reporters while coming down hard on the BJP said that no one knows when assembly elections will be held in J&K as only the top court knows it.
Replying to PM Modi’s yesterday remark in Aligarh that Congress’s election win would redistribute wealth of people & Ex- PM Manmohan Singh’s remark that minority community had the first claim on the country’s resources, NC Chief said, ” I’m disappointed that our Prime Minister has said this as our Islam, Allah teaches us to treat everyone as equal. Our religion never taught us to disrespect people of other religions but has told us to respect other faiths as you do yours. Prime Minister ji, a Muslim man will never snatch Manglasutra of any women and if that happens that he is not a Muslim. He never understands Islam. If you kill a person that is equal to killing lakhs as per Allah. It is a murder of Humanity can this happen, I’m also a Muslim and my Islam never taught to hate other and I love people of different faiths as I believe everyone’s progress will take India forward.
Criticising harshly the incumbent dispensation, He added, “What is appearing ahead of us is that they want one nation, one election and how is that possible for 29 states. They are changing constitution as they have themselves told they want to change it, they want to conduct election just for once and want Russia type state set up where presently President Putin will remain as President till death and after his demise another of his party-person will take his position”.
“Why they are saying that the BJP will reign till 2047. Is the Prime Minister going to live till 2047. They have thought of this that they are not going hold any election and will remain in power till 2047. They want to do whatever they want and they are doing it. The Election Commission used to consist of Chief Justice of India (CJI), a leader ruling regime and one from the opposition party. Why a need arises to remove CJI from the commission as you can see yourself there are two representatives in the EC from the ruling party and one from the opposition, what will he do then. We do not know when elections will be held in J&K as only the top court knows it. They can also done away with Supreme Court if they won elections”, he said taking a dig at the incumbent govt.
“All the Kashmiri leaders who are backing the BJP govt should see how they treat Muslims”, he said
