A massive magnitude 7.8 earthquake has rocked Turkey and surrounding nations, razing buildings to the ground and killing at least ten people with many more trapped in the rubble.
People were left trapped and injured in several areas in the country and neighbouring countries after the huge quake rocked southeast Turkey early on Monday.
The earthquake was followed by at least another strong tremor and effects were observed across much of the Middle East.
At least ten deaths were reported initially in Turkey with three more unconfirmed casualties in neighbouring Syria, which has also been badly hit. The death toll is set to increase.
Turkey has made an official appeal for international assistance as the emergency response continues.
Tremors were reportedly being felt as far away as Israel and Lebanon.
