JMC, Motor vehicle dept conducts joint Anti encroachment drive in Jammu
Jammu: A joint team of Jammu Municipal Corporation and Motor Vehicle dept headed by ARTO Samba today conducted an anti-encroachment drive at Samba chowk in Jammu.
The Drive was headed by ARTO Samba Rehana Tabassum accompanied by the department’s staff and JMC employees.

“Our Road safety week is going and this was our second day of the activity against encroachers here”, ARTO Samba said.

The drive was conducted against the illegal encroachments, wrongly parked vehicles and street vendors causing traffic congestion and obstruction to free movement of pedestrians on footpaths.
Further, ARTO Samba was seen appealing the citizens, particularly rehriwalas/ street vendors not to encroach upon main roads, footpaths, pavements as the same cause inconvenience to the general public and pedestrians and also create obstructions in the free movement of vehicular traffic.
“We have found around 50 idle wrongly parked vehicles and have sticked challans on them here. We have told people not to park their vehicles wrongly on the roadsides to repel fines”, ARTO said.
