Jammu, November 20, 2022: Dast-e-Madadgaar a local NGO along with Jammu police distributed free helmets to motorists on Tawi bridge at Gujjar Nagar in Jammu on Sunday.
In view of the increased road accident fatalities the helmets were distributed by the NGO along with police to pillion riders.
A Senior Superintendent of police (SSP) who distributed free helmets given by NGO told the media that it is also necessary for the pillion riders to wear helmet to protect themselves from untoward road mishaps.
“It is crucial for both riders while driving to wear helmets to save themselves. Today, this drive was organised by ‘Dast-e-Madadgaar’ volunteers here to aware local people about the importance of wearing helmets. From time to time, the Dast-e-Madadgaar volunteers take such initiatives to help people in Gujjar Nagar”, he said.
