Jammu, October 12, 2022: The Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit has strongly condemned the decision to fix the criteria of only one year for voting rights for non-local people in J&K.

Party state chief Manish Sahni, while reacting strongly , said that the local people should have the right to decide the future and government of Jammu and Kashmir.

“We welcomes giving voting rights to POJK, Balmiki and Gorkha community, but the decision to give voting rights to non-locals camping in Jammu and Kashmir for just one year cannot be tolerated” he said.

He further said that if the Election Commission had taken this decision earlier , when the Delimitation Commission was deciding the seats in Jammu and Kashmir, justice would have been done to the assembly seats in Jammu.
” What about that domicile which was made by the local people after standing in long queues for months, they have become just garbage today”, he added.

Lastly, Sahni said in the warning tone  that all the opposition parties are united about this issue  and a big mass movement will be seen soon.
