Srishti Koul from University of Jammu among others was presented the National Service Scheme Awards for the year 2020-2021 at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

President of India, Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to Srishti Koul and others in recognition of their outstanding social service through NSS.

Srishti Koul from the Department of Chemistry in JU had organized menstrual hygiene awareness and free kit distribution programme and reached poor and needy women in the adopted villages. She motivated the youth of the J&K to join the NSS activities for selfless community services.

She worked in COVID 19 pandemic specially distribution of food, mask, sanitizer etc. She participated in various activities undertaken by the NSS unit such as plantation drives, blood donation, health and immunization camps, awareness activities on POCSO Act, gender sensitization, adult literacy, plastic free India, green village etc.

She was actively involved in promoting public awareness about different Government schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Renewable Energy, Cashless India, Digital Literacy and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao etc.
