A tragic incident has occurred in which two minor girls have been allegedly raped by their father in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The sisters, whose names have been withheld by a local news portal, belong to the Litter area of the district.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Pulwama, Gulam Jeelani told news outlet that after receiving a complaint, the father was arrested immediately.
Meanwhile, in another incident in the Kakapora area of the Pulwama district, a principal of a private school has been accused of raping two students, who are siblings.
Jeelani said that the medical examinations of the victims have been conducted and an “investigation has been set into motion under relevant sections of law.”
Jeelani further said that both the cases are being thoroughly investigated to know the other facts in the cases. Meanwhile, it was not immediately known for how long the victims have been sexually abused.
As per sources, the victims are aged below 15 years, however, it they could not be independently verified.
A day before police registered a case in Pulwama against the sexual assaults, a man was arrested in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on the accusation of raping his daughter.
