Jammu, 21 Sept, 2022: Several members of E- Rickshaw auto union on Wednesday held a protest demonstration in Kathua.
The annoyed drivers allegedly told their grievances to the media alongside shouting slogans in favour of their issues.

E- Rickshaw Union President Kathua allegedly said that they are being threatened by the local auto operators who are stopping them from driving their E-Rickshaw’s in their prescribed routes.
“They stop our vehicles and by slapping us they advise us not to work here, they are acting like hooligans”, he said.
He further said that they are not ready to accept the recent order issued by DC Kathua, which is prohibiting the use of E- Rickshaws in Jammu as the vehicles are eco-friendly in nature and is supported by the govt and the Prime Minister Modi under the ‘Mumkin’ scheme.
One of the vexed protestors allegedly said that he sold his wife’s jewellery to buy the rickshaw and he is under debt now, the local auto-drivers are pestering him by telling him to ply on some other route. “Our kids will die in starvation if we are not allowed to work here” he said.
“The govt should officially allot us routes to ply here so that no one can dare to bother us”, he said.
