Amid the ongoing controversy and negativity around Amir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chadda actress Kangana Ranaut posted on Instagram: “I believe that Aamir Khan Ji, the mastermind behind the plan, is responsible for all of the unfavourable publicity surrounding the upcoming film Laal Singh Chadda. This year, no Hindi films have worked (barring one exception of a comedy sequel) only south films deeply rooted in Indian culture or with local flavour have worked. A Hollywood remake would have not worked anyway”.
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 film in Hindi that Kangana Ranaut was referring to starred Kartik Aaryan.
In her note, she added, “But now they will call India intolerant, Hindi films need to understand the pulse of audiences it’s not about being a Hindu or Muslim. Even after Aamir Khan ji made Hinduphobic PK or called India intolerant, he gave the biggest hits of his life. culture or have a local flavour have succeeded (with the exception of a comedic sequel in Hindi). Any Hollywood remake would have failed. Please stop making it about religion or ideology. It takes away from their bad acting and bad films.”
In his response to being labelled as anti-India and anti-Hindu and the #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha trend on Twitter, Aamir Khan said that it’s untrue that he doesn’t like India and also requested the people to watch his film.
