The Samba police on Saturday arrested a drug smuggler with 3.6 grams of heroin recovered from his possession.
The accused is identified as Abdul Qayum , son of Mohammad Yusuf . He is a resident of Chak Manga Gujran area of Samba district.

A senior police officer said on Saturday that based on specific information a team of policemen laid a trap at SIDCO chowk Samba near National Highway and nabbed the smuggler who was on a motorcycle and was trying to flee from the spot.
The Samba police has filed a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act against the accused . Further investigation into the matter is underway to find out the larger racket involved in carrying out such illegal activities.
The areas especially Sarore , Rakh Barotia, Balol Khad and Manohar Gopal areas are the hotspots of illegal activities in Samba district.
