Residents of Slathia Chowk , Udhampur staged a protest today against the Jal Shakti Department under the leadership of Balwant Singh Mankotia, former MLA .
The protesters shouted slogans against BJP and accused the govt of turning averse to the matters of public importance . They accused the PHE department of ignoring their repeated requests for ensuring proper water supply.
Speaking to the media , Mankotia said , ” Just five days ago one of our delegation met with the officials of the department where we made them aware of the acute water shortage in our area but still there is no devlopment on the same . Moreover ,they are turning a blind eye to our grave concern by saying that the daily wagers of the PHE department are on strike and hence for the time being we can’t do anything to resolve the issue “.
