Mohalal Sharma a local priest told that the ancient Sheshnaga shrine is estimated to come into existence approximately 7,500 years ago. He continued according to the mythology when Mahabharata war ended, Babruvahana son of Arjuna fought with his father at this place at that time and killed him but when he came to know that Arjuna is his father, Babruvahana went to the netherworld to take Naga mani (a life giving mani) from his maternal grandfather Sheshnaga and when he refused Babruvahana to give his mani , he somehow tricked him and struck an arrow from the netherworld to escape, that’s the story behind the name of this place ‘Mansar’.

“Thus Babruvahana brought his father Arjuna back to life with the help of naga mani. Later at dusk Sheshnaga appeared and asked Babruvahana to return Nagamani , but he refused saying that from now on Kalyuga will begin and during the Kalyuga, all the dieties
took refuge in the rock form and from that day onwards this Nag temple came into existence”, he further told.

He said many devotees both local and from neighbouring states come to take blessings from this shrine, bow their heads in reverence and offer various offerings on fulfillment of their wishes.
