A domestic violence case has appeared in which a girl is beaten by the spouse family members in Jammu’s Bari Brahmana near Sidco railway chowk.

The incident happened when Kajal (22) a resident of Doda was attacked by her in-laws when she went to meet her husband at his home in Bari Brahmana.
Kajal said, “I married Sudhir Singh who is a resident of Bari Brahmana in court.It has been one year since we are living together as married couples in a rented room at Greater kailash and today when Sudhir called me to meet him at his home in Bari Brahmana, on reaching there my spouse family members attacked me with sticks and stopped me from seeing my husband.After sometime he called me and told me that we can’t live together.I have done everything for him as wife is expected to do but he abandoned me alone”.
Furthermore Kajal said, “Sudhir was the one who told me to come to Jammu and live with him and one day he tried to commit suicide, I saved him that day and also informed his parents but now he has ostracized me”.
Her friend Manu added, “ I am her friend from past two months she is working in a beauty parlour here, she has told me many things about her life.Earlier her parents married her to a much aged man, when she came to know about him she divorced him and thus ran away from Doda and came to Jammu.She did court marriage with Sudhir and they were living like as married couples at a rented room in Greater kailash.He has not treated her well and only used her physically. She used to manage the house expenditures and pay all the bills”.
We only demand from the local police to arrest Sudhir’s family members.
