Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted a drive against illegal encroachments outside shops in Parade area of Jammu city .

JMC on Thursday as part of the anti-encroachment process launched a drive to remove roadside encroachments .The corporation started removing the encroachments from one end of the road and subsequently from the other end.
Most of the shopkeepers had already removed the encroachments themselves after getting notice regarding the same.
Some of the locals present there appreciated this move taken by the administration while others objected to it alleging that the JMC should conduct such a drive on a regular basis so that it would serve as a deterrence to the encroachers . They further said that conducting anti-encroachment drives once in six months is of no use . It rather destroys someone’s livelihood.
