Today, Jammu Municipal Corporation Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta distributed regularisation orders to sanitation workers who completed their seven years of service as Safai Karmis. The issue of remuneration of JMC daily wagers has also been worked out, and soon the vacant posts will be filled up. He also extended gratitude to the UT government for the reorganization of JMC. While talking to the media, he said it’s a matter of great pride for the entire UT that JMC bagged second prize for the best municipal corporation in the ‘Plastic Waste Management’ category a few days ago. With each passing day, Jammu is scaling new heights of development, and the Jammu Smart City Mission and its entire team are doing commendable work. The Smart City Projects are aimed at transforming Jammu and Srinagar into modern, sustainable and economically vibrant cities focused on improving infrastructure and services and increasing mobility.
The ambitious project, on completion, would strengthen urban infrastructure, improve city services, public aesthetics, and ease of living, provide a clean and sustainable environment, and enhance administrative machinery in both the capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar.
