Plaksha  Foundation conducts awareness camp in Jammu

Jammu: Plaksha Foundation led by Dr. Himja Mengi and Dr. Arshiya Goswami in collaboration with Sunrise Educational trust conducted a free Dental Check-up and awareness Camp  on Friday and Distributed free toothpastes at Sunrise Public school Channi Jammu.

This school is run by Sunrise Educational trust and  established in 2012, which offers free Education including books and uniforms to the children residing in slums, below poverty line student and those who belong to weaker section of society.

As many as 100 students were examined during the dental camp.

A team of experts comprising Dr Himja Mengi, Dr Arshiya Goswami and Mr Inderjeet  Shan, Mr Rajesh Sharma, Founder Trustee of Sunrise Educational trust and other staff members including , Mrs Divya Kesar, Miss Amandeep Kour, Miss Saniya Kour, Miss Zuberia Sheikh, Miss Neha Arora, Mr Akash Malhotra, Mr Bal Krishan, Mrs Shavini, Mrs Radha, were also present during the camp.

Dr. Himja Mengi Founder of Plaksha Foundation and the social worker told the children to brush twice daily and to avoid chocolate and candies, she also informed students to get their dental check-up done every six month and said that they have identified some more schools, which educate the students from poor socio-economic background and Plaksha foundation will target these schools in future for free Dental and Medical check-up programmes.

Dr Arshiya Goswami (MDS) Periodontology stressed that the health of gums is important and can be maintained by good oral hygiene.
