Last week J&K LG Manoj Sinha announced that the government would provide financial assistance to dental surgeons. “Govt to provide financial aid to dental surgeons to start their clinic. In the first phase, 400 dental surgeons and 800 paramedics will be selected for a specially tailored self-employment scheme”, the statement of LG reads.
The protesting dental surgeons have not agreed to accept financial assistance from the government and have continued their protest to demand government jobs. The protestors said that if the government doesn’t have funds for us, the government should shut down the dental college as they increase unemployment.
While talking to JK Media, a surgeon said, “it’s unfortunate why the LG is not listening to us. We have staged a peaceful protest so that our demands could reach the LG. The LG has announced financial assistance for us, but we don’t accept his decision as if we need a loan, we have applied for it at any bank. We are not demanding something illegal. All we want is that the government should conduct an exam, and if we fail in the exam, then we can’t blame the government”.
“If the government is giving jobs to all other branches, then why not to our fraternity? The government is releasing one statement only that there are no funds for us, but they are releasing funds for other branches, then there must be some corruption in government that’s why they are not releasing funds for us. The government is also saying that the medical department is getting privatized, then the government should shut down the government colleges and also privatize the MBBS surgeons”, a female surgeon said.

A big news for the old aged drivers as the Government has appealed them to write ‘E’ letter on their vehicles.
Keeping the traffic conditions and increase in accidents in consideration, the old aged people driving a vehicle will now write ‘E’ letter denoting elder on their vehicle.
This sign will alert the youth while driving on the road and make them careful when around the ‘E’ signed vehicles.
Talab Tillo District Traffic Inspector (DTI) Rakesh Kumar said that the ‘E’ sign on vehicles with drivers above age 60 will avoid unnecessary honking near them.
He further said that the new rule would be beneficial to the elders as they would easily get side on the road and the Traffic Police is encouraging them to follow the new rule.
