The District Election officer Mohammad Aijaz Asad today appointed 28 micro-observers in the hypersensitive and sensitive polling stations to ensure free and fair Urban Local Body elections.
The District Election officer said that the micro-observers will oversee the proceedings inside the polling booths and report directly to the District election office.
There are 61 polling stations spread over five municipalities, and micro observers have been appointed in hypersensitive and sensitive polling stations. The polling stations where micro observers have been deployed are New Diet kheora, BHSS Rajouri, XEN PMGSY Office Rajouri, ITI Office Rajouri, BMS Jawahar Nagar, Govt. Primary school Thuddi Jawahar Nagar, GHS Jawahar Nagar, Tehsil Office Rajouri-A, Govt. MS (Ward No- 8) Rajouri, Tehsil Office Rajouri-B, Town Hall Office Rajouri, GMS QasbaTain-A, GMS QasbaTain-B, MC Office-A, BHSS Sunderbani-A, GHSS Sunderbani-A, GHSS Sunderbani-B, GHSS Sunderbani-C, BHSS Sunderbani-B, BHSS Sunderbani-C, GMS Sunderbani-B, GMS Sunderbani-C, ITI College Kalakote, Tehsil Office Kalakote, GMS Badhog, GPS Kalakote, GPS Patladi, GHSS Thanamandi-A, BHSS Thanamandi-A, BMS Thanamandi-A, BMS Thanamandi-B, BHSS Thanamandi-C, Tehsil Office Thanamandi-A, MC Office Thanamandi-A, Tehsil Office Thanamandi-B, MC Office Thanamandi-B.
District election officer said the role of the observers in ensuring independent, free and fair elections is being strengthened by the deployment of micro-observers. These micro-observers will directly work under the control and supervision of the DEO. The task of micro-observers is to observe that the election process is being carried out in a free and fair manner and there is no vitiation of any kind. They have been imparted specialised training to perform their duties.
