Jammu , Feb 4 : Security forces have successfully neutralised two terrorists during a focused joint counter-terror operation in the Jophar Forest area of Basantgarh in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.

The operation, codenamed Operation KIYA, was launched based on specific intelligence inputs provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Troops of the Army’s CIF Delta under the White Knight Corps planned and executed the operation in close coordination with the J&K Police and the Central Reserve Police Force.

Security forces established a tight cordon around the area and reinforced it to ensure effective area domination and prevent any escape by the terrorists. Contact was established on Tuesday, and the terrorists were prevented from breaking contact during the operation.

Following a calibrated and coordinated response, both terrorists were successfully neutralised. Officials said the operation demonstrated strong inter-agency coordination, tactical precision, and a high level of professionalism.

The operation has been concluded, while the area continues to remain under surveillance to rule out the presence of any remaining threats.
