Two alleged inter-state narcotic smugglers were arrested after 202 kg of poppy straw was seized from a Punjab-bound truck in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior police officer said.
According to a report, on tip off information a police party headed by SHO Police Station Udhampur Sanjeev Singh Chib under the supervision of Dy SP ZS Wani and overall supervision of SSP Udh Rayess Mohd Bhat laid a Naka near Jakheni Chowk on Jammu Kashmir National Highway. During search of a Truck (PB02BV-8899) which was on its way to Punjab from Srinagar, police recovered 202kg poppy straw kept inside the vehicle. Two accused identified as Jatinder Masih son of Sham Masih resident of Kodwanhan Distt Gurdaspaur (Pb) and Jatinder Singh son of Makhan Singh resident of Buran Kotli Batla District Gurdaspur (Pb) were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 584/18 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered against them.
