Tattapani is tourist spot situated in sub division Gool, district Ramban in the Jammu region. Visitors converged at Tattapani to take a dip in the hot water spring complained about the poor conditions of roads, light, toilet and the accommodation facilities of that region.
This place is believed to possess healing powers for treatment of various ailments.
Water emanating from the Tattapani spring is very hot, and is considered to be the best for skin disorders and joint pains. About 6 km road after Sangaldan (Ramban) is in poor physical conditions with potholes that makes driving highly unsafe for the tourists.
They also complained about poor accommodation facilities for the tourists visiting the place. There is also a problem of drinking water for the people. The accommodations are not in good conditions. People stay in sheds made by the residents themselves. No proper lighting, poor bathroom facilities, overpriced things are other such problems faced by the visitors.
Addressing the press, Tehsildar of Ramban, Ashraf Parvez said that he is aware of the problems faced by the tourists and they have appointed two PHE employees to check the water supply of the area. He said that the street lights were placed by the tourism department that are not working because of pending rents and some of them are out of order. He urged the Government to provide funds for the infrastructure of the region to provide comfort to the people visiting the holy place.
