Tipper hits an auto in Satwari, driver brutally injured

An incident today took place at Satwari chowk where a tipper hit an auto badly. According to police officials, the tipper driver ran away and was caught hold by the Traffic Police near Shakuntala Theatre. However, the tipper hit many other vehicles on the way.

“There was red light at the signal. All vehicles were stopped. Suddenly a tipper with no number plate came, hit an auto and rushed away. Our two traffic policemen followed the tipper on bike and caught him near the Shakuntala mandi. He has been taken into custody.” a traffic police official said

Surinder, the owner of the auto with vehicle number JK02CL1963 was brutally injured and referred to GMC, Jammu while Lateef Ali, the tipper driver was arrested with the tipper being seized by the Traffic Police.

Two Traffic officials, Vikram Choudhary and Rahul Sharma who got hold of the tipper driver were injured. They had scratches on their bodies with a broken phone.

“We followed him till we caught him at 1 6 point near Shakuntala mandi. As we held him, he pushed us and we were dragged on the road. Our uniform has torn and my phone’s screen has broken. While driving he hit many vehicles including the auto, a baleno car and a RTC bus.” said Rahul Sharma
