Three day long awareness campaign at Sunderbani was concluded today with the event held at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Sunderbani by Regional Outreach Bureau Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Govt of India, Field Outreach Bureau Rajouri. The theme of today’s programme was Drug Abuse/Substance Abuse and its ill effects on the society.
The programme was organized in the presence of Girdhari Lal Vice- Principal Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Sunderbani, Romal Singh SHO Sunderbani, Ram Lal performer ROB Jammu, Romesh Kumar Sharma Health educator SDH Sunderbani and Rajinder Singh Lect. Zoology.
Girdhari Lal in his address urged the students and the teachers to come forward to help the drug addict. He said that it is the moral duty of every citizen of India to come forward and contribute towards the fight against drug menace.
Speaking on the topic Rajinder Singh lect. enlightened the students about ill effects of drug abuse on human body. He said that drugs are not always harmful to our health unless they are used in excess and for a prolonged period of time.
He added that there is provision of rehabilitation in Govt Hospitals.
Vijay Matto Incharge FOB Rajouri in his welcome address enlightened the audience about the working and organization of Regional Outreach Bureau Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Govt Of India.
He said that ROB J&Kis doing similar programmes in Poonch, Udhampur, Kathua and Jammu. While talking about the importance of today’sprogramme he said that the objective of the programme is to educate the targetpopulation about Drug Abuse/Substance Abuse and its ill effects on the society.
He enlightened the students about behavioural changes, social changes and physical changes in a human being when one is addicted to Drugs.
A cultural programme, a drawing competition and a seminar were the main attractions of the event. Students were awarded first, second and third prizes for their participation in drawing competition on the theme. The registered troupe of ROB presented theme based and folk items to entertain the audience.
