Theft Reported At Nanak Nagar, Jammu

Nanak Nagar has become an epicenter of major crimes. Recently an ATM security guard was murdered and yesterday a major theft was reported at Sector 5, Nanak Nagar. The thieves have stolen the life earnings of the family.

While talking to the media the male member of the family said “yesterday we arrived at our home at 7:30 pm and the lock on the outer gate was there but when we entered our house there is another door which we have also locked but when we returned the lock was opened and when we came inside we saw the house has been looted. About 110gms of gold have been stolen which includes 2 sets of my wife, 1 gold chain of mine, and a pair of bangles of our daughter”. “My mother-in-law lives in another house and every day I visit her and also in the recent weeks I have spent 15 days in the hospital because my mother-in-law was not well but that time nothing happened”, the female of the house said.

The thieves have taken much time in stealing as they have only taken original gold ornaments leaving behind the artificial jewellery. A case has been registered in the nearby police station and the police are checking the CCTV camera footage.

The mayor of the area said “the increasing crimes have raised the tensions for the people living here. Looking at the crimes the government should take major action otherwise a time will come when the women of Jammu will not feel safe like other states. It’s shocking to see the theft in this area which always remains busy. If we have to raise our voice for our security we will raise”.
