Two mobile theft cases have been reported from Gandhi nagar and Sanjay Nagar areas of Jammu. Along with mobile, a cash amount of rupees 6,000 was also stolen which was kept in the mobile cover.
A victim, Ankush Sharma said “I went to the University for admission but it was closed. Then, I went to Gandhi Nagar and was standing outside Aakash Institute. As I took out my mobile from my pocket, 2 men came on a scooty and snatched my phone. They pushed me and ran away. I had kept a cash amount of Rs. 6,000 in my mobile cover. Sad that I lost it too.”
“I went to city. While returning I stopped at Sanjay Nagar and parked my scooty. I walked in to the gully and as I reached Sunny Book Centre, I started using my mobile phone. A scooty passed by me but the person gave a brake and took away my phone. The speed was so much that I couldn’t note the vehicle number. There is so much disturbance is the society. I wonder how our mothers and sisters would be safe.” another victim, Yashpal added.
Crimes have increased in J&K over a period of time. The more cases are getting solved, the more are taking place. People need to be more alert about theft and murders. Self security is advised especially for people with heavy gold and cash.
