Take cognizance of corruption complaints against officers, politicians: JKPCC

Questioning BJP over its complete silence over issues of corruption, Congress has termed the claims and commitments to check corruption, as hollow during the previous and present dispensation, as tainted officers not only continue to be placed at important places but also promoted and received extensions during these regimes.
“There are several instances of such a phenomenon in Governors regime including present one , as several tainted officers and officials continue to enjoy the significant postings due to patronage of the ruling dispensation and also got promotions and extensions in services. Some of these people faced enquiries and carried the baggage of the serious allegations of corrupt practices including those levelled by the ruling BJP leaders and legislators,” PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said.
Sharma further said that the recent case is the promotion of some engineers against whom serious allegations were levelled by the BJP Legislators and enquiries ordered by their own Coalition Government but they promoted to the rank of Chief Engineers, without knowing the outcome of the investigations.
PCC leader said that one such officer faced Vigilance enquiry while he was posted as Xen in REW regarding misuse of MGNREGA funds while another one was reportedly booked in alleged favoritism by flouting the mandatory norms in the execution of the works worth crores of rupees in the Jagti Migrant Colony.
Surprisingly the issue was highlighted by two ruling BJP legislators and enquiry too ordered by the then minister in charge Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation in 2017 by the PDP-BJP Govt. But it is again more surprising that not only the present BJP controlled dispensation is promoting such officers but their leaders are silent spectators and maintaining complete silence over the issues of corruption.
He alleged that not only the corruption is thriving in the administration at various levels and people are being fleeced for their genuine works but even transfer industry too is thriving. The common people continue to suffer more than before since he has no one to listen.
PCC leader demanded that the LG Administration should further strengthen and activate the anti-graft organization and set up intelligence network to weed out highly corrupt officers and officials and also take cognizance of allegations of corruption and land grabbing against political persons irrespective of their affiliations, without any bias.
