Gulmarg : A sudden fresh spell of snowfall was recorded in Gulmarg, prompting swift action from the Sub-Divisional Administration Gulmarg led by SDM Gulmarg Mir Jaliel Ahmad, along with Tehsildar Tangmarg Syed Eyad Qadri. Due to a sudden western disturbance, the Gulmarg Tangmarg stretch became slippery, resulting in traffic disruptions and several vehicles getting stranded. In response, joint assistance teams of the Sub-Divisional Administration were promptly deployed at multiple locations to ensure smooth evacuation and extend help to affected commuters.
Several tourist vehicles were safely evacuated, while stranded passengers were guided and supported amid harsh weather conditions. SDM Gulmarg and Tehsildar Tangmarg personally supervised the rescue operation and remained on the spot, escorting men and machinery for snow clearance and vehicle recovery.
Meanwhile, the administration has appealed to all drivers, tourists, and visitors to strictly follow advisories and safety measures during ongoing snowfall in Tangmarg and Gulmarg to ensure safe and smooth travel.
On the occasion, SDM Gulmarg and Tehsildar Tangmarg urged the public to cooperate with the administration, emphasizing that collective cooperation is essential for ensuring safety and effective response during adverse weather conditions.
