Students protest against Jammu University, demand mass promotion

Students of Jammu University protested in the campus by raising slogans against it. The second year students asked for mass promotion from the Administration. They said that the rules must be same for all the semesters and that Covid-19 exists for everyone.

One of the students said “Jammu University is now known for protests more than it’s education. The 2nd year students are demanding justice. The University has given mass promotion to all the semesters then why not 2nd semester? Their exams were to be conducted but got delayed due to Covid-19 and when these students demanded mass promotion for them, the University turned away. Why are they doing this?”

“We are here to ask for our rights. First of all, at a slow speed of 2g internet it’s very difficult to pass notes to friends and secondly some if the areas don’t even get proper network. How will we study? Now when the Cabinet Minister himself has tweeted about the mass promotion of Students in Jammu then why isn’t the University Administration following it?” another added.

The students put their problems forward. “Many of us belong to places outside Jammu city and all of us are not privileged enough to travel regularly to the University and raise our voices for justice. Since 10-15 days everyday protest is happening here. The administration should understand everyone’s financial conditions and follow the rules and regulations. We must get mass promotion.” They said.
