To encourage and promote the classical music in Jammu and Kashmir State, North Zone cultural centre, Patiala, Ministry of culture, Govt. of India in collaboration with Sangeet Milon, Lucknow and Arohi Sangeet Vidyalaya , Jammu and Kashmir conducted live audition of state level for classical voice of India-2018 at Jammu.
More than thirty five contestants’ have participated in classical music under different categories in vocal, Tabla, Santoor and Violin. Participants included from Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Kashmir and also 5 contestants’ from visually imparred .
It may not be out of place to mention that Arohi Sangeet is the oldest and most active cultural society of the State. It provides free training in classical music to poor and specially abled students and provides stage to local Artists. Arohi has also credit to get this state audition conducted to promote classical music in our state.
Winners declared under different categories in Tabla were, Ridma bajpai 1st Prize, Sarvaan gupta 2nd and Pragati Sharma 3rd were as in Vocal Ridma bajpai 1st, Suhani abrol 2nd and Sarvaan gupta 3rd and in middle group Aablas Sharma 1st, Ramjhim gupta 2nd, Anmol kumar 3rd Prize.
The above toppers were given Gold medal, Silver medal and Bronze medal along with certificates respectively.
Consolation medals in different categories in Vocal were given to Damini bandral, Chandrika jyoti, Surestra (All blind girls) and Arredhya sharma, Suraj dogra, Akshay kumar and Vipas vaid. In Tabla, Pragati Sharma, Gurjot singh and Varinder kumar. In instrumental music, Sidharth bogal, Aryansh khajuria, Nasser ahmad mir, Shamasdin tragwal, Khush paul, Akshay samnotra and Chanderdhari kesar were declare for consolation medals. All other participants were given participatory certificates.
Prof. Dr. Saubhagya Vardhan, MIlon Debnath and Prof. Dr. Padmini Tikoo were the adjudicators.
Winners from all States and International categories, Grand Finale will be held at Lucknow in the middle of December 2018. The Chief Minister Utter Pradesh has consented to present Prizes. From Jammu Ridima bajpai Tabla and Suraj dogra Vocal has been declared for Grand Finale.
The programme was well organized and conducted by R.K Tikoo , a well known socio-culture activist of the state.
Among others present were Director NZCC, Patiala, Gaurav gupta, Secretary Jammu Chamber of Commerce, Bodh raj lamsal, G.M, Mango Hotels, CA Rajeev gupta, Rajesh ojha, Harish kaila, and Vijay sambyal.
