September 29 is celebrated as ‘World Heart Day’ across the globe to aware masses about various cardio vascular diseases. To commemorate the “World Heart Day”, Department of Cardiology, Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu under the supervision of Dr Sushil Sharma, Head of the Cardiology Department organized various functions to create awareness among commoners about prevalence of cardiovascular disease and precautions to be taken to live a healthy life.
To celebrate “World Heart Day”, the doctors at Super Specialty Hospital (SSH), Jammu delivered awareness lectures. Hundreds of students from different schools of Jammu city joined “World Heart Day” celebrations at Super Speciality Hospital. Shamsher Singh Manhas, Member Parliament was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Sunanda Raina, Principal GMC, Dr Arun Sharma, Medical Superintendent were also present.
Dr Sushil Sharma was felicitated in the event for his contribution to the field of Cardiology. He said that it is important to aware the citizens about heart related illnesses because in India alone, about 17 million people either die from or suffer various heart problems.
