As the severe cold conditions continue in Kashmir, last night also the temperature recorded in Srinagar was -8.4 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday the temperature recorded in Srinagar broke all records of 25 years. The roads in Srinagar are covered with snow and are slippery because of which it is difficult for people as well as animals to walk on the road. Though the MeT department has said that the weather will remain dry till 27th January but with such low temperatures people are suffering.
With the temperature dropping below the freezing point the world-famous Dal lake has been frozen. Yesterday a few videos went viral in which people were seen playing on Dal lake after which DC Srinagar issued an advisory for not walking on the Dal lake as it can be dangerous. Also, today SDRF teams have been posted near the Dal lake so that no tragedy takes place but still today morning people were seen walking on the lake.
The temperature recorded in different regions of Kashmir are- in Kazi Kund, it was 10.7 Degree Celsius. In Pahalgam, it was 11.1 degrees Celsius. In Kupwara, it was -6.7 degrees Celsius. In Kokernag it was 10.3 degrees Celsius. In Gulmarg, it was -7 degrees Celsius. In Shopian it was 9.8 degrees Celsius while in Kulgam it was 19.6 degrees Celsius.
