Solar Eclipse 2021: First Surya Grahan on THIS date, check India timings!

Published

on

The first solar eclipse of the year will occur on June 10. This will be an Annular Solar Eclipse that will show a ring of fire during the eclipse. However, in some locations, it will be observed as a Partial Solar Eclipse.

When do annular solar eclipses happen? An annular solar eclipse happens when it is New Moon. At the same time, the Moon is at a lunar node, so the earth, the moon, and the sun are aligned in a straight line. The Moon is near its farthest point from Earth, called apogee, so the outer edge of the sun remains visible as a ring of sunlight.

As per timeanddate.com, “The annular phase of this solar eclipse is visible from parts of Russia, Greenland, and northern Canada. Weather permitting, those in Northern Asia, Europe, and the United States will see a partial eclipse.”

How often does a solar eclipse happen
Every year between 2 and 5 solar eclipses occur, each one visible only in a limited area. So, mostly calendar years have 2 solar eclipses. The maximum number of solar eclipses that can take place in the same year is 5, but this is rare.

According to NASA calculations, only about 25 years in the past 5,000 years have had 5 solar eclipses. The last time this happened was in 1935, and the next time will be in 2206.

However, the second and last solar eclipse of 2021 will occur on December 4. This will be a Total Solar Eclipse that would begin at 10:59 am and end at 03:07 pm.

Q. Sir, what do you think would be the topics about J&K in the meeting?

On 5th August, 2019 a very big change happened for Jammu and Kashmir after 72 years. The meeting will surely involve discussions on post abolition of article 370, how J&K can achieve heights of progress and how people can participate in that through elections and delimitations especially the deprived people in J&K like POK people, Western Pakistani refugees, Kashmiri displaced, Gujjars, Bakarwals and Pahadis .

We’ll also talk about the agendas of specific political parties since 72 years which are against the will of J&K public. If they keep extending these topics, they’ll get nothing in return.

Q. Mehbooba Mufti told to talk to Pakistan even when few days back a 25 year old was killed by terrorists. Why this sympathy for terrorism?

This is Jammu’s misfortune that this agenda kept on going for years in the region and did nothing for the public of Jammu as well as Kashmir except handing over guns to the youth. The youngsters now want to work, they want good education and employment but still some parties with the same agenda are destroying everything.

Q. Very few leaders from Jammu have been called for the meeting and some like Choudhary Lal Singh have shown resentment about that. Do you think Jammu’s voice will be raised?

Jammu has a population of around 1.3 crore and every person thinks he’s better than the other. But everyone cannot be called for the meeting. BJP has always raised it’s voice for Jammu region and Nationalist Forces and it will continue doing that. All of us have seen a demo on 5th August. See people attending the meeting will be the ones who will represent National thinking and others will come with same old agendas. So, the meeting will have good and mature discussions.

Q. Lot of talks about Jammu becoming a separate state. Your views on that?

At this moment I feel we need to think how post 5th August we have to do the consolidation, make popular Government, walk towards delimitation and end the imbalance prevailing right now. Rest, everyone has different opinions and different agendas. These things keep going and are discussed in democracy.

Told PM that J-K people don’t accept ‘illegal’ abrogation of Article 370: Mehbooba Mufti

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday said that she has told Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the all-party meeting that people of Jammu and Kashmir do not accept the manner in which Article 370 was abrogated “unconstitutionally, illegally and immorally”.

Speaking to media persons after the three and half an hour long meeting, Mufti said, “People of Jammu and Kashmir are in a lot of difficulties after August 5, 2019. They are angry, upset and emotionally shattered. They feel humiliated. I told Prime Minister that people of Jammu and Kashmir do not accept the manner in which Article 370 was abrogated unconstitutionally, illegally and immorally.”

The PDP chief said that they will struggle peacefully even if it takes months or years.
“People of Jammu and Kashmir will struggle constitutionally, democratically, peacefully. Be it months or years, we will restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as it is a matter of our identity. We did not get it from Pakistan, it was given to us by our country, by Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel,” she said.

This was the first meeting between the Centre with the political leaders of the region after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.

The PDP president said that she congratulated the Prime Minster over holding talks with Pakistan, which reduced infiltration in the union territory, and added that the government should instead talk about the halted trade.

“I congratulated him that they talked to Pakistan and it led to ceasefire, less infiltration. For peace of Jammu and Kashmir if they have to talk to Pakistan again, they should. They should also talk to Pakistan about trade with them that has halted, it is a source of employment for many,” she said.

The meeting began at around 3 pm and was attended by 14 prominent leaders from Jammu and Kashmir.
Among the leaders who are participated in the meeting were Congress’ Ghulam Nabi Azad, Tara Chand and GA Mir; National Conference’s Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah; PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti, J-K Apni Party’s Altaf Bukhari; BJP’s Ravinder Raina, Nirmal Singh, and Kavinder Gupta; CPI(M)’s M Y Tarigami; National Panthers Party’s Prof Bheem Singh; and Peoples Conference’s Sajad Gani Lone.

Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Home Secretary also attended the meeting.
