Doda, Nov 13: Security forces have intensified anti-militancy operations across Doda district for the fifth consecutive day, pressing sniffer dogs into service to check vehicles and individuals at various nakas.

The extensive operations are being carried out in multiple areas of the district, with a special focus on tracing any movement linked to cross-border activities. So far, dozens of houses belonging to families having members active across the Line of Control (LOC) have been raided and thoroughly searched.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Mehta, said that security has been tightened across the district and a strict vigil is being maintained on all suspicious persons and activities.

The heightened security measures come in the wake of the recent Delhi car blasts and the recovery of arms and ammunition from various parts of the Union Territory, prompting security agencies to remain on high alert to prevent any untoward incident in the region.
