Sadbhavana Week-2020 concluded at Women Gandhi Nagar

NSS Unit of Govt. PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar commemorated Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by celebrating Sadbhavana Week-2020 from 14-20th of August, 2020. Aweek-long series of activities were conducted for NSS volunteers under the able supervision and guidance of Dr. Sangita Nagari, Principal of the College.

With the common theme-“ Role of Youth in promoting National Integration and Communal Harmony”, the events of Poster making, Slogan Writing, Essay Writing and Poetry Writing were organized from 14 -17th of August,2020, wherein the volunteers participated very enthusiastically. On the fifth day, 18.08.2020, a Webinar with theme – “Remembering Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Awardee’s”, was organized. The volunteers spoke on the life and work done by these personalities in their respective fields targeting national integration, communal harmony and peace. Speaking at this platform, NSS Programme Officer, Prof. Mala Bhasin threw light on the various remarkable efforts and contributions made by Sh. Rajiv Gandhi for the socio-economic upliftment of mother nation and in bridging heritage and youth power. The senior NSS volunteer Ms. Surbi Singh acted as moderator of the event.A Rangoli making activity on theme- “Spread the Colors and Emotions on the Floor”,was conducted on 19.08.2020 in which the volunteers showcased their creativity and talent by making use of material available at their respective places.

Applauding the efforts of NSS PO and volunteers, Principal Dr. Sangita Nagari impressed upon the volunteers that they should work for the betterment of the society and nation as whole. She emphasized the need for co-operation and unity to develop peace and harmony through self- confidence and positive thinking. The week long programme concluded on 20.08.2020 with e-Sadbhavana Pledge taking at their respective places by Principal, NSS Programme officer and volunteers. A common Sadbhavana Pledge video was also posted at different social media platforms. NSS Programme Officer Prof. Mala Bhasin presented the vote of thanks.
