Kupwara, Jan 4: A residential house was completely gutted in a devastating fire incident that broke out during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday in Awoora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
As per the locals, the fire erupted at around 2:00 AM in a house belonging to Abdul Gani Dar, son of Gh Hassan Dar, a resident of Dar Mohalla Awoora. The flames quickly engulfed the structure, reducing the entire house to ashes before fire and emergency services could bring the blaze under control.
Although no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident, the family has suffered heavy property damage, with all household belongings destroyed in the fire.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, while authorities have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway.
