Raja Jambulochan Park, which was constructed in the memory of King Jambulochan who established this state, is getting a facelift because the park lies exactly in front of the offices of civil secretariat as the civil secretariat, Srinagar will move( popularly called as Darbar move) to Jammu, winter capital.
Darbar move is the 146-old year practice of bi-annual shifting of state capital between Jammu & Srinagar.
The civil secretariat — seat of Jammu and Kashmir government — Raj Bhavan and other move offices closed in Srinagar on October 26 and are scheduled to reopen in Jammu on November 5 as part of the bi-annual Darbar move under which the government functions six months each in Srinagar during the summer and Jammu in the winter.
Every year the Jambulochan park gets a renovation before the opening of civil- secretariat in Jammu.
Locals also appreciated the initiative of Jammu Development Authority (JDA).
