The Prakash Gurpurab (birth anniversary) of the tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, was celebrated with great religious fervour and devotion at Gurdwara Chatti Patshahi, Rainawari, in Srinagar. The main function was held at the historic shrine, drawing a large number of devotees from different parts of the city as well as nearby areas.
From the early hours of the day, devotees gathered at the gurdwara to offer prayers and pay homage to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, remembering his teachings of courage, equality, sacrifice, and service to humanity. Special prayers (Ardas) and recitation of Gurbani were organised on the occasion, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
To facilitate the visiting devotees, the gurdwara management and volunteers made elaborate arrangements. Langars (community kitchens) were set up, where free meals were served to all, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion, reflecting the Sikh tradition of selfless service and brotherhood. Adequate arrangements for drinking water, seating, and crowd management were also put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
