Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon lay foundation of AIIMS in Jammu region.
“PM will soon come to the state and lay foundation of AIIMS,” Mr Malik said here while addressing a press conference.
He was speaking on developmental programmes undertaken by his administration in the past four months.
Pertinent to mention here that land has been identified to construct AIIMS near Vijaypur in Samba district.
The Governor said that his team is honestly performing the jobs for an overall development of all the three regions of the state.
“We have tried to do some developmental works in the past 4 months which popular governments cannot do in their rules,” he added.
Expressing satisfaction over conduct of peaceful panchayat and urban local bodies polls, the Governor said, “earlier those who were into power either they were politicians, bureaucrats or babus, there standard of living was even higher than “Jahangir”.
“Had the funds sanctioned by the Centre been used appropriately, Kashmir would have been of “gold” and seen lot of development,” said Mr Malik.
He however, also said that he is not here to appease or satisfy anybody but to work for the development of the state and welfare of the people under an ambit of the state constitution.
