New Delhi, Dec 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated ISRO for successfully placing the 6.5-tonne Bluebird Block-2 satellite into a 520 km orbit using the LVM3 rocket, marking the heaviest satellite ever launched from India.

The prime minister said the launch demonstrates India’s growing capabilities in heavy-lift rockets and reinforces its expanding role in the global commercial space market. He highlighted that the mission lays a strong foundation for future projects, including the Gaganyaan mission.

“This significant achievement strengthens India’s heavy-lift launch capability and reflects our strides toward an Aatmanirbhar Bharat in space technology,” PM Modi said, applauding the dedication of India’s space scientists and engineers.

He added that the mission enhances India’s commercial launch services, deepens international partnerships, and provides a boost to self-reliance for future generations.
