Petrol and diesel prices have skyrocketed in the country. In some places, petrol price has crossed Rs 100 per litre. In Delhi, petrol is selling for close to Rs 91. Even though the rates remained stable on Monday, they are still at an all-time high. However, you will be surprised to know that there are many countries where petrol is available for as low as Rs 2-10 per litre.
Petrol and diesel prices have been rising continuously since February 9. During this phase of price rise (In the last 12 days since February 9), the price has gone up by Rs 3.63 per litre for petrol while diesel rate has risen by Rs 3.84 a litre in Delhi.
The increase in the previous weeks has taken petrol price across historic high levels of Rs 100 a litre in several cities across the country.
The petrol and diesel prices have increased 25 times in 2021 with the two auto fuels increasing by Rs 7.22 and Rs 7.45 per litre, respectively so far this year.
1. Rs 1.45 per litre in Venezuela
As per the website www.globalpetrolprices.com, the price of petrol in Venezuela on February 22 was around Rs 1.45 when converted to Indian currency.
2. Rs 4.39 per litre in Iran
The price of petrol in Iran is just Rs 4.39. This is the second country in the world after Venezuela where the petrol prices are the cheapest.
3. Rs 17.77 per litre in Angola
The website lists the petrol price in Angola as Rs 17.80 per litre in Indian currency.
4. Rs 25.03 per litre in Algeria
You will be surprised to know that petrol price in Algeria is just a little higher than Rs 25 per litre.
5. Less than Rs 30 in these countries
The price of one litre petrol in Kuwait is Rs 25.133, in Sudan, it’s Rs 27.407, Kazakhstan Rs 29.657, Qatar Rs 29.825 per litre.
