PDP & Apni Party protest against New Land Laws

New Land Laws have been announced regardin J&K UT. Some are in favour while parties like PDP and Apni Party are totally against them. The cause of rejection by these parties is that they feel betrayed by the fake promises of the Central Government and think that it would increase crimes in the UT. PDP and Apni Party protested against these laws in Kashmir and Jammu respectively but unfortunately many PDP leader protestors got arrested by the Police.

The members of PDP think that this measure of Government is to reduce the Muslim majority in the area. They said “Government wants to turn us into minority. Our lands will be snatched. Our protest was very peacefully done. Don’t know why they are arresting us?”

According to the reports, the PDP chief, Mehbooba Mufti in sometime will go and meet the arrested members of the party.

She has tweeted “PDP’s @parawahid, Khurshid Alam, Rouf Bhat, @MohsinQayoom_ & @buttkout were arrested by J&K police for protesting against the settler colonial land laws thrusted upon people of J&K. We will continue to raise our voice collectively & won’t tolerate attempts to change demographics.”

On the other hand, Apni Party members chanted slogans against the Government and are demanding the abolition of these laws by the Government itself. They said “This law is against the Dogra culture, against the farmers, against the refugees and against everyone who has protected Government land since last 70 years. Now these people would be evicted from their own place. Apni Party will continue to protest until justice is provided.”

Apni Party was one of the parties whose members had met PM Narendra Modi after article 370 and 35A and they were assured that the land and jobs of J&K would be kept safe and none other the localites would have access to them. Now, every party, every person resisting this law is feeling ditched and demanding the Central Government to takes the laws back.
