Earlier birds were found dead in the BSF Cantonment Rajouri from where the investigation team has taken the dead birds to verify the reason for the death. The investigation team has asked for a few days after which it can be cleared whether the bird flu has arrived in J&K or not. The Government of J&K had already banned the import of poultry products in the UT till 14th January.
As per our sources “, the police at Lakhanpur border has increased the checking of vehicles so that no poultry product can enter the UT. The import was banned after the neighboring state of Himachal Pradesh announced the spread of bird flu. The J&K government has already assigned teams and an investigation is under process in all the districts where birds were found dead. Apart from this, a strict watch has been kept on all the poultry farms that still have a supply of poultry products”.
