Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector with unprovoked shelling but no damage was reported in the incident, reported on Monday. No loss or causality has been reported so far. More details are awaited.
It is to be noted that the attack came a day after Pakistan newly-elected Prime Minister Imran Khan, in his inaugural speech on late Sunday night, stressed on improving ties with all neighbouring countries. “I have spoken to all of Pakistan’s neighbours in order to improve relations with them. There is a need for peace and without it, we cannot improve Pakistan’s situation,” Hindustan Times had quoted Khan as saying.
