Suryakumar becomes 1st Indian cricketer to debut in all 3 formats after turning 30

Suryakumar Yadav has become the first-ever Indian cricketer to make his debut in all three formats after turning 30.

Suryakumar made his T20I debut aged 30 years and 181 days on March 14, 2021, and his ODI debut aged 30 years and 307 days on July 18, 2021. He made his Test debut today aged 32 years and 148 days.

In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Yadav will have the responsibility of scoring quick runs in the middle. He is expected to have the freedom to play his natural game and if he indeed manages to do so, the Australian bowlers may find it really hard to stop him from scoring.

Notably, along with Yadav, KS Bharat too made his debut for India in the first Test against the Pat Cummins-led side. The wicketkeeper-batter was waiting in the wings for a long time as Pant and Wriddhiman Saha were the first-choice keepers for India after MS Dhoni’s retirement.

5G services now available in 238 cities

The government has established a road map to make 5G services available in different parts of the country through rollout obligations, quoting a press release by the Ministry of Communications.

Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) have started providing 5G services in the country from 1 October 2022, said a press release by the Ministry of Communications on Wednesday.

As of 31 January 2023, 5G services have been started in 238 cities distributed across all licensed service areas, added the statement.

As per the Notice Inviting Application (NIA) dated 15 June 2022, for the auction of spectrum and the license conditions, the rollout obligations are required to be met over a period of five years, in a phased manner, from the date of allocation of spectrum.

Further expansion of mobile networks beyond the mandatory rollout obligations depends on the techno-commercial consideration of the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).

JKP SI recruitment scam: Bail pleas of six accused rejected

Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Anjum Ara has rejected the bail applications of Yatin Yadav, Pardeep Kumar Katiyar, Asheesh Yadav, Pawan Kumar, Surender Singh and Anil Kumar in the much publicized SI recruitment scam.

After hearing Advocates Vivek Gaur, Gaurav Gaur & Nitin Kumar Gupta for the applicants whereas Public Prosecutor Vijay Dogra for the CBI, the CJM observed, “charge sheet has already been presented against the petitioners and other accused persons before the court. Cognizance has already been taken by this court and the case is pending at the stage of arguments on maintainability of charge, therefore, further investigation in terms of Section 173(8) CrPC cannot be a ground for allowing the prayer of petitioners so as to entitle them for grant of compulsive/default bail”.

“Perusal of the charge sheet clearly reveals that further investigation is being conducted in terms of Section 173(8) CrPC and the matter is at the stage of consideration of charge/discharge on the basis of charge sheet already presented by respondent. Therefore, this court is of the opinion that without waiting for further investigation and even a supplementary charge sheet if any, this court can proceed further in the case”, the CJM said.

“The petitioners are not found entitled for grant of statutory/compulsive/default bail as such the petitions are dismissed”, the CJM said.
