Online applications invited for trainers for Hajj-2022

Online applications have been invited from the desiring Muslim Govt. Employees (Permanent) of Jammu & Kashmir till 20th December, 2021 for imparting Orientation/ Training to the Pilgrims of Hajj-2022.

The applicants must have performed a Haj preferably during the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 and should generally not be more than 58 years of age.

Applicants of age 25-58 years as on 31 December, 2021 are eligible to apply online. They must have gotten two (2) doses of approved vaccine against Covid-19.

Apart from this, the applicants must be fully conversant and fluent in English/Urdu/Hindi/local language/ dialects and computer literate besides being efficient enough to receive/ transmit latest information/messages through email/WhatsApp and other available sources of E-Media.

The applicants must possess thorough knowledge of the logistics and rituals of Hajj and Umrah. They must be mentally and physically fit, capable of addressing/ giving lectures to relatively large gatherings and in a position to spare time for imparting training.

Any applicant having Criminal records against him/her in any Court of Law shall not apply.

The desiring applicants can apply Online through Haj Committee of India website www.hajcommittee.gov.in . The applicants are advised to upload the requisite documents at the time of filling up of Online Application Forms.

No offline application or copy of downloaded online application will be accepted by this office. The last date / time for filling up online applications are 20th December, 2021 at 23:59 hours.

Driver dead, another injured as lorry rolls down into gorge

A trucker was killed and another person injured after a truck rolled down into a deep gorge near Tulbagh, one kilometre from Banihal town of J&K’s Ramban district on Wednesday.

An official that a truck, bearing registration number JK05A 8209, which was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar fell into a deep gorge near Tulbagh around 7 pm, resulting in on spot death of the driver.

Soon after the accident, Banihal police and local volunteers launched a rescue operation and retrieved the body of the trucker, who was identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh (58), son of Abdul Gani Sheikh, a resident of Bandipora in north Kashmir.

The injured, identified as Naveed Ahmad son of Nazir Ahmad, also a resident of Bandipora, was shifted to Emergency Hospital Banihal.

An official said that the body is being shifted to Bandipora and that the relatives of the victims were on their way to Banihal.

3 Soldiers Injured In Shopian Gunfight

On Wednesday, three soldiers were injured, two of them critically, in an ongoing gunfight in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, reports quoted officials said.

They said that two soldiers suffered bullet injuries as soon as the gunfight started between militants and a joint team of Police and army in the Nowgam area of the district. Later, another soldier was injured in the firefight.

Quoting official sources, a news agency reported that the injured were shifted to the army’s 92 base hospital, where two remain in “critical condition.”

The encounter had ensued after Police and army launched a cordon and search operation following inputs about the presence of the militants.

As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the officials said, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, they said.

Gunfight breaks out in south Kashmir’s Shopian

A gunfight broke out between militants and the security forces in the Check Nowgam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday, police said.

A police official told a medic agency that the gunfight broke out after the police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Chek Nowgam area of the district.

It was not immediately known how many militants were surrounded by the security forces.
