Nirmala Sitharaman to Meet Women Entrepreneurs in Srinagar Today, Will Launch Many Schemes

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will reach Srinagar on Monday on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. She will meet women entrepreneurs in Srinagar. For this, she will participate in the program organized in SKICC. Along with this, will come to Jammu on 23 November. She will review the state of the economy in a high-level meeting here during the era of Article 370 and Corona.

Will meet delegations from business and industry. She will announce the launch of many schemes in the program organized in General Zorawar Singh Auditorium. This includes the announcement of a tourism cluster that will benefit over 2000 establishments. She will also announce a package of Rs 278 crore for three district cooperative banks of Jammu, Anantnag and Baramulla.

Apart from launching many schemes, including Mission Youth, Tejaswini, One District One Product, we will also hand over letters to the beneficiaries of many schemes.


Cop escapes unhurt in militant attack

A policeman escaped unhurt in a militant attack in the Batmaloo area of Srinagar on Friday, reports said.

Sources reported that militants fired upon a police constable at about 3:15 pm in the SD Colony area.

However, the policeman escaped unhurt. Soon after the attack, the officer said that the entire area was cordoned off and searches launched.

He said that a case has been registered and further investigations have been launched.

Two brothers drown while extracting sand in Jhelum

Two brothers drowned while extracting stand in Jhelum river in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, reports said.

They said that brothers – Nissar Ahmad Malla and Hilal Ahmad Malla – drowned early today morning in the river while extracting sand near Jetty at Khwaja Bagh.

The family of the duo has been called and efforts are on to retrieve their bodies, said an official.

The brothers hailed from Littarpira village of Bandipora district, he added.

J&K: Massive CASO launched in two villages

Joint Forces launched a massive Cordon And Search Operation(CASO) in two villages of the Kulgam district in south Kashmir.

An official said that the operation on Friday was launched jointly by forces including RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF following inputs about the movement of militants in the Kakran Pombay and Katrasoo areas of Kulgam.

He said that the operation was launched following inputs about the presence of militants in these areas.

The search operations in both areas were going on when this report was being filed.
