Srinagar, Nov 18:
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has obtained 10 days of custodial remand for Jasir Bilal Wani, a key associate of the Delhi suicide bomber involved in last week’s high-intensity blast near the Red Fort.

Jasir, also known as Danish, was presented before the Patiala House Court in New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. He was arrested on Monday from Jammu and Kashmir’s Qazigund area as part of the expanding investigation into the deadly explosion that killed 15 people and left several others injured.

According to officials, Jasir is believed to have played a significant technical role in the terror plot. Investigators allege he had been modifying drones for potential use in attacks and had experimented with creating improvised rockets. His work reportedly supported the operations of suicide bomber Dr Umar Mohammad, accused of carrying out the Red Fort blast.

This arrest comes just a day after the agency detained another close aide, Amir Ali, marking the first major breakthrough in the case. Both individuals are suspected to have worked closely with Umar un Nabi, who is believed to be one of the central planners behind the terror operation.

NIA sources said the agency is actively following multiple leads across different states as part of its efforts to uncover the full network involved. Several raids and search operations are currently underway to trace anyone who may have contributed to the planning, logistics, or execution of the attack.

The Red Fort blast has triggered heightened security measures nationwide, with authorities focusing on the possible use of drones and advanced technical tools in future terror attempts.
