Srinagar, December 19, 2025: A political clash erupted on Friday between National Conference (NC) and PDP leaders after Iltija Mufti demanded registration of an FIR against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
NC spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar described Mufti’s demand as “selective and politically driven” and suggested she take similar action against her own mother regarding an alleged incident from 2004. He stressed that justice should be impartial and warned that selective outrage could undermine efforts to protect women’s rights.
Dar wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “For the cause of women’s rights, I urge you to file an FIR against your mother for the same incident that occurred in 2004.”
Earlier, Iltija Mufti had approached the police seeking an FIR against Nitish Kumar. She also criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, saying that as the only Muslim CM, he should have condemned Nitish Kumar instead of Mehbooba Mufti.
This incident reflects the ongoing political tensions and pointed exchanges between NC and PDP leaders over sensitive legal and political matters.
